TTSC campaign fuels tanker debate

The RAF needs to replace its ageing fleet of tanker/transport aircraft.

The Government has decided that the acquisition will be funded by a PFI – worth no less than £13 billion.

Two consortia are competing for the contract. TTSC (The Tanker and Transport Services Company) includes Boeing, BAE Systems, Serco and Spectrum Capital among its members.

The competition will be fiercely contested, and a programme of lobbying advertising will be an important part of the communications ‘debate’ that will run from now until final selection towards the end
of this year.
